Step 1 – Acceptance

It is okay to be you. It’s okay to be alone.

Scared to Be Alone?

-That’s nothing weird.

It’s true that no one can live alone throughout the entire life.

But you are to be alone?

-That’s not bad as you might think.

You could live your life to the fullest even if you are quarantined at home. It’s not as boring as you might think.

You could enjoy your life, even if you feel lonely or left out in a community. Or if you just feel like you don’t want to belong to a specific place.

There is no need for you to maintain superficial or complex relationships. You don’t need people around if they make you feel unhappy, or lower your self esteem. You don’t need to care about popularity on social media or popularity within your social groups. Just follow your love, and show thoughtful compassion to what you love.

Step 2 – Understanding & Following Your Passion

In order to keep your mind healthy, it is very important to have in-depth understanding of yourself. It is important to know who you are, and what kind of characteristics or special qualities you have.

When I did not understand much about myself, I often experienced self-denial. This was because I used to make most of my decisions based on other people’s feelings or what others might think about me. I was scared of other people judging me. I had very low self-esteem.

However, when I came to the point of starting a new chapter in my life, I realized that I did not make the full out of the previous years. I did not know that I have difficulties paying attention to small details but have superior imagination skills which is a gift for me to go towards the creative field. I did not know that my introverted nature makes me struggle a lot when I have to go to any social events. Those understandings saved me from being self-denial, and being depressed when I do not have lots of people around me like those “popular kids”. I started to follow my passion.

What I did were;

  • Wrote a diary, in order to remember how I felt when I did certain things
  • Read different genres of books and blogs
  • Did personality tests
  • Talked to my local psychologist and psychiatrist when I was depressed

If you are going towards your passion, you wouldn’t feel so lonely. This is because you will see people with similar goals or interests on your pathway. This is also because you will be too busy to care about other people’s business.

If you love to write, you might start up a blog. If you like to exercise, you might want to train your muscles at home, etc. If you don’t like your office job, you might want to start a side job and make it grow. Of course, you could spend some of your time relaxing and taking rests. There are many ways to take care of your self, and freely express yourself.

I hope this blog will help enrich your alone time.

Introducing myself

Hi, my name is Hana and I am a teenager. What makes me pretty unique, is that I moved from one country to another for 4 times times throughout my life, and have been away from my home country for more than ten years. I often felt very lonely, because I was half forced to be away from my relatives and my close friends in my home country. I missed them so much, and I can’t even remember how many times I wished to go back.

In the country that I moved to, I was very lonely at school. That is not only because I am a Third Culture Kid, but also because I am very introverted, quiet, hypersensitive, and have difficulties paying attention to detail. However now, I am pretty content about where I am, started to study what I love in order to pursue my career. I found people to talk to, without being awkward. I will share my experiences and tips for people like me, or even if you are not like me, I hope the posts will lead to people quarantined and bored finding something enjoyable to do.

Why start a blog?

  • I want to share my experience of being alone, and how I overcame the loneliness.
  • I want to let people know that there are a lot of ways to make the full out of your life even if you are not surrounded by many people.

Although I studied English for quite a long time, my English is not perfect at all. I am sorry for that in advance. Please comment if you find any mistakes. Please comment anything you like to add.
